Over the past several years the industry has accelerated its adoption of converged physical security infrastructures.  Many of us in the IT field have seen this happen with other technologies such as data, voice, and video utilizing a common network.  Leveraging the same infrastructure to also deliver physical security and video surveillance services allows for a more flexible, scalable, and cost-effective solution across many different industries and applications.

It allows benefits such as unified credential repositories, centralized video retention, remote viewing, and much more.  It opens the ability to integrate additional business/building systems to the physical security infrastructure as well.

Some examples of these include:

  • Displaying video footage on IP phones
  • Utilizing phones to lock/unlock doors
  • Integrating badges with Active Directory credentials
  • Integrating badges with RFID location-tracking systems

But in our experience, it’s not about the pieces and parts, it’s about how you tie them together as a solution that adds value to your business.

Confiance brings the ability to leverage multiple manufacturers, custom on-staff development, and experienced engineers to create and deliver the right solution for your business.
